ESPN famous reporter: It seems that the Rockets have no intention of pushing Durant to renew his contract

ESPN famous reporter Tim Macmahon talked about the renewal of Rockets star Durant on the podcast.

Macmahon revealed: "From multiple news, the Rockets seem to have no intention of fully promoting the renewal negotiations with Durant. This is not a complete severance of the possibility of renewal, but there are reports that Durant may not take the initiative to ask for a maximum salary contract, and the Rockets are unlikely to give a quote close to the maximum salary level. For the Rockets, if Durant enters the new season with an existing contract that is about to expire, although this is not the most ideal situation, the team will not be in excessive panic."

At present, Durant has one year left in his contract, and his salary in the 2025-26 season will be about $54.71 million.

Last season, Durant played 62 regular season games for the Suns, averaging 36.5 minutes per game, and averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game, shooting percentage of 52.7%, three-point shooting percentage of 43.0%, and free throw shooting percentage of 83.9%.
