Average of 19.6 points per game + three shooting percentages! The Jazz signed a two-way contract with No. 53 Show Tongjie

According to the official release of the Jazz, the team has officially signed a two-way contract with second-round rookie John Tongjie.

24-year-old Tongjie has played for four seasons at Colorado State University. In 2023, he transferred to the University of Missouri to start the "super-age senior" season (note: refers to an additional season that exceeds the regular 4-year NCAA qualification), but was reimbursed due to a serious foot injury and played only 8 games. He then used the NCAA policy to retain qualifications for players who missed the season due to injury to play an explosive season at the University of Wisconsin in the 2024-25 season.

In 37 games in his 37 games for the University of Wisconsin, Tongjie averaged 31.1 minutes per game, contributing 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists, and shot three shooting percentages were 46.5%, 38.8% and 90.9% respectively. The shooting guard was not only selected for the second team of the All-American All-American Team, but also selected for the First Team of the All-American Team of the Big Ten League.

At the draft in June this year, the Jazz used the draft picks obtained from the Clippers' trade to pick Tongjie in the 53rd overall pick.

Tongjie will fill the Jazz's only remaining two-way contract quota and become the team's two-way player together with Hebway and Hackles.
