Yukun coach Anderson: Persisting in high press and offensive football is the key to our results
November 16th Yunnan Yukun coach Anderson was interviewed and talked about recent preparations, the team’s performance this season and other topics. First of all, I would like to ask you, in today’s public training match, as the coach, you did not direct from the sidelines, but observed from the stands. For you, would it be more intuitive to watch players' performance from this perspective? Yes, the view is indeed better from the stands and you can observe the players' performance more clearly. Today we also arranged assistant coaches to give instructions on the sidelines, so from my side, the perspective is clearer. There were many substitute players on the field today who had less chances to play before. Is there any substitute player whose performance impressed you deeply? Yes, many substitute players performed well. Our overall training status has been very good in the past two weeks. Before the last game against Henan, we will also use this period to further confirm which players can enter the starting lineup. At this time last year, the team had successfully surpassed the league in advance, and this year it has locked in the top eight in advance. Both of these achievements are hard-won. Can the head coach please review the work of you and the team this year? For our entire team, it is everyone's all-out efforts on the court that allowed us to achieve good results this season. Tactically, we have always adhered to a high press, offensive football and quick transition style of play, which is also the key to our good results. We know that you have always pursued perfection. The season is coming to an end. Today is also the last home game of the season. I would like to ask you, do you have any regrets or shortcomings when looking back on this year? This issue is a bit difficult for me to evaluate directly. We introduced many new players at the beginning of the season, and they need time to adapt to the plateau environment, new club, and tactical requirements, especially before the winter training. Their condition was not ideal. But as the season progresses, everyone gradually gets into the rhythm. By the end of the season, we played some exciting games, became more solid defensively, conceded fewer and fewer goals, and the entire team was gradually improving. If there is any shortcoming, it may be that the performance during the adaptation period at the beginning of the season was not ideal enough. This is your second year coaching Yukun. From leading the team to the Super League last season to achieving good results this season, I just saw you signing autographs for fans. Is there anything you would like to say to the fans who support you? The fans in Yuxi and Yukun, Yunnan are very good. Although Yuxi is not a big city, especially when we play away games, we often encounter larger stadiums and more fans. Therefore, we cherish the opportunity to play at home. Every time we play at home, the local fans give us tremendous support and help, which means a lot to us.
