Which one would Benjamin Sesco choose for Manchester United or Newcastle?

Manchester United and Newcastle entered a new stage in the battle for young striker Benjamin Cesco. The Slovenia-based RB Leipzig striker reportedly opened transfer opportunities to only one of the two Premier League clubs, while also closing other goals against his team.

Benjamin Sesco communicated his decision to his agent at a meeting on Sunday (August 3), after he was not included in Leipzig's roster in a warm-up match against Atlanta.

In that meeting, the 22-year-old striker said he would only consider offers from Manchester United or Newcastle if he left this summer.

Newcastle's serious attitude

Newcastle became the first club to take action. The Saudi Arabian consortium has allegedly made a £698 million offer (including additional bonuses).

However, Leipzig directly rejected the proposal. The Bundesliga club now hopes to have at least £70 million as the base price for Cesco's transfer.

This number does not include add-ons, which may significantly increase the overall transfer value.

Manchester United Tactics

At the same time, Manchester United has not yet made an official offer, but reports have been reported that the Red Devils' senior executives are actively discussing with Leipzig to find price resonance.

Despite currently facing funding restrictions and missing European games this season, Manchester United remains an attractive option for Sesco. He was reportedly very interested in the long-term plans offered by Manchester United.

On the other hand, Newcastle's advantage is that they compete in the Champions League this season and are financially prepared to close the deal faster. However, Cesco wants to consider all aspects of the long-term project, which makes the competition between the two clubs still exist.

RB Leipzig is preparing to sell Saxo,

RB Leipzig said that as long as the right offer is obtained, they will not prevent the player from leaving. The German club has an informal agreement with Benjamin Cesco about his future.

Previously, Cesco had been associated with Arsenal, but Arsenal had already introduced Victor Gicelles last month to end these speculations.

Sesco has performed very well since joining Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg two years ago, scoring 39 goals in 87 games. His acumen makes him one of the most sought-after young forwards in Europe at present.

Impact on Isaac

If Cesco eventually transfers to Newcastle, they will likely open the door to leave for their main striker Alexander Isaac.

Isaac is currently being favored by top European clubs, with 23 goals in the Premier League last season. Newcastle has even reportedly rejected Liverpool's official offer, amounting to £110 million, and now marks a sky-high price, or £150 million.

Isaac himself has returned to Newcastle training this weekend, after missing the Asian preseason. If Cesco's transfer is realized, this summer's transfer window could also set a new record in Premier League history.
