The most promising year for Chinese football: RoboCup Robot Football World Cup will kick off in Brazil
IT Home reported on July 16 that the world's most influential robot event, RoboCup (Robot Football World Cup), will be launched in Saldoba, Brazil. This time, the "Chinese Science and Technology Team" composed of Tsinghua University Vulcan Team, China Agricultural University Shanhai Team, and Tsinghua University THMOS Team led the two-line battles of accelerating T1 and accelerating K1, launching a charge towards the "Hercules Cup" of the highest honor in the humanoid robot industry and the robot football competition. RoboCup is the Robo Football World Cup. The first competition began in 1997. It is currently the highest-level, largest and most influential robot event in the world. Among them, the humanoid group event (RoboCuphumanoid) has received the most attention in all competition events. In the 3V3 team competition, robots not only need lightweight, flexible, solid and resistant to falling robots, but also have complex real-time perception and brain decision-making, advanced motion control and multi-agent collaboration tactics, which is a comprehensive competition of robot full-stack technology. This year's RoboCuphumanoid brings together 19 top robot teams from China, the United States, Germany, South Korea, Britain, France and other countries. They will be divided into AdultSize (adult group) and KidSize (small group). They will compete fiercely in the four days from July 17 to 20, and finally determine the two champion teams. It is worth mentioning that this time, the Vulcan team of Tsinghua University, the Shanhai team of China Agricultural University, and the UTAustin Villa team of the University of Texas will use the accelerated evolution to compete on the same stage. This is the first time that the Chinese hardware platform has become the "general equipment" chosen by many teams in the top international competitions. According to previous reports from IT Home, on June 28, in the first domestic robot football 3v3 AI competition - 2025 RoBoLeague Robot Football League (referred to as "Jiangshao"), Tsinghua Vulcan team finally defeated China Agricultural University Shanhai Team 5-3 and won the championship. In addition, the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games will be held at the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and the National Speed Skating Hall (Ice Ribbon) from August 15 to 17, 2025. This Robot Games has designed a total of 22 main events and 5 peripheral events. The first batch of main events include 19 events in three categories: competitive competitions, exhibition competitions, and scene competitions. The peripheral events include three events: badminton, basketball, and table tennis, focusing on performance and interaction with the audience.
