At the WTA 1000 Rome Station, the most important clay season, Jasmine Paulini defeated the world's third highest favour and became the first Italian female player to win the local cup in 40 years. This is her third WTA champion and the second WTA 1000 champion, which once again proves Italy's long tradition and strong strength on clay courts.
