British footman announces his own departure, or free transfer back to the Premier League
This week, England midfielder Anger Gomez announced that he would leave Ligue 1 Lille freely after his contract expires this summer. Gomez, 24, was born in Manchester United's youth training camp and played for Manchester United's first team six times from 2017 to 2020. In 2020, he transferred to Lille and successfully gained a foothold in Ligue 1 after spending a year on loan to the Portuguese Super League Boa Vista. In August 2024, Gomez was selected for the England team for the first time and has played 4 games for the Three Lions. Due to factors such as injuries in the past season, Gomez's playing time has been greatly reduced, but he is free and has been said to have received the attention of Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham.
