What a twist of fate! The No. 1 point guard in the country chose to transfer schools five times, completely ruining his promising future!
"Believe me, his ability and talent are higher than mine. I think as long as he enters the NBA, he can become a top star." After Jonathan Kuminga was selected by the Warriors that year, when talking about one of his former teammates, Kuminga gave a huge evaluation without thinking. And he was talking about none other than Noah Farrakhan, the former No. 1 point guard in the United States. However, compared to Kuminga who is currently shining in the Warriors, Farrakhan has disappeared from everyone. He is obviously only 25 years old, but he is traveling in various basketball leagues around the world, looking for a job opportunity. Although he wrote on his social media that my story continues to be written, and what doesn’t kill me will only make me stronger, this is more like his helpless cry of struggle. So what happened to lead this player with unlimited potential to where he is now? Let’s find out below! A star player in high school, but his career was ruined due to transfer. Going back to Farrakhan's high school days, at this time he can be said to be one of the hottest rookies in the United States. As a point guard, he has extremely strong physical fitness, and is also very skilled in ball control and organizational skills. Since his freshman season, he has been regarded as a future member of the NBA. When he was studying at IMG Academy, he had a duel with Julian Newman, another Internet celebrity in the United States. Although Newman scored 35 points in the game, Farrakhan used wonderful assists to help his teammates score continuously, and finally led IMG Academy to a victory over his opponent. And under the leadership of Farrakhan, they also won the final championship in the National High School Championship held in 2019. At that time, Farrakhan was extremely prosperous. He was directly selected as the number one point guard in the United States and won the title of five-star high school student. He once attracted the attention of famous NCAA schools such as the University of North Carolina and Duke University, and they were willing to give him a full scholarship. However, Farrakhan, who was supposed to have everything going smoothly, made a wrong decision in his senior season, that is, he transferred back to his hometown of Patrick High School, and what awaited him here was the Kuminga we mentioned at the beginning. Logically speaking, the two should be a strong combination, but the effect is very unsatisfactory. What's even worse is that in this high school, Farrakhan was deprived of a large number of shots and possessions. As a result, his data dropped directly to 7.1 points and 2.4 assists, without any competitiveness at all. His title of five-star high school student was also taken back. After graduating from high school, he was only a three-star high school student. At the same time, the top NCAA colleges also lost interest in him. In this way, in just one year, he went from a popular fried chicken to a fringe figure in the United States, and could only join the less famous East Carolina University. He never thought that this was just the beginning of his misfortune, and accidents would continue after that, far exceeding his imagination. Transferred to another school four times in four years, ruining his future. After coming to East Carolina University to report, Farrakhan was still very depressed. Due to his poor performance in his senior season, the school team coach was not interested in him, so he was not given many opportunities. He only played 12 times in total, averaging only 3 points and 1 assist per game. The media has always looked down on him, thinking that he has become an "injury Zhongyong." So after ending his freshman season hastily, Farrakhan chose to transfer, and this time his destination was Eastern Michigan University. Fortunately, God was merciful and came to a new environment. Farrakhan ushered in a full-scale outbreak and once again played a hot performance in high school. He averaged 16.6 points per game and shot 40.8% from three-point range. He led the school to a record of 20 wins and 11 losses in the MAC League. If he can maintain this performance and finish his college season, even if he cannot be selected by an NBA team in the first round, there is still a chance in the second round. With this idea in mind, and in order to increase the probability of being selected, Farrakhan stayed in college and continued to play for one season. The surprising result is that Farrakhan faced waterloo in his junior season. His scoring average dropped to 12.1 points per game, and the team's record was the worst in history, 8 wins and 23 losses. Not only did his draft stock not rise, but it further declined. The anxious Farrakhan actually chose to transfer again. This time he came to West Virginia University, but here he was just a role player, averaging only 7.7 points and 3 rebounds per game. Farrakhan, who was not determined to give up, actually chose to transfer schools for the fourth time. His final university destination was Hampton University. Although he averaged 14.2 points per game and was selected to the third team of the CAA League, his constant transfers made his good years disappear. After leaving college this summer, he has reached the age of 25 and has no chance of being selected by the NBA. Although he was invited to play in the summer league with the Spurs, he had no performance to speak of and ultimately failed to impress the team. Now Farrakhan has left for Europe. If there is no accident, I am afraid that he will never enter the NBA in his life, which is indeed extremely sad.
