DanWoike: I don't think the Lakers will have any other moves before the start of the season, which is actually a simple cost-benefit analysis. The Lakers currently have two tradable draft picks, one in the first round and the other in the second round, and some low-value exchange rights, as any team with Doncic has a fairly high lower limit. To free up the spot to sign the remaining free agents, you spend at least one second-round pick and lose a veteran who you think can help the team to some extent (or that veteran can have a greater impact on the team than a player who is still not signed in August). As for the deal, while negotiations may restart as training camp approaches, I believe the Lakers are more likely to choose to observe the roster they have formed, evaluate their pros and cons, and try to improve during the season rather than using their limited draft resources to reach a deal now.
