Edwards & Hughes posted a message to mourn Jota: Memorial event will be held. You will never go alone

On July 4, Fenway Group Football CEO Edwards and Liverpool Sports Director Richard Hughes issued a statement expressing condolences to the deceased player Jota and said that the club will hold a commemoration event for him.

Edwards&The full text of the statement by Richard Hughes is as follows:

At this moment, no words can relieve the pain caused by such a devastating tragedy, and we all feel extremely disappointed. In such a heartbreaking situation, it is our duty to acknowledge the grief we have experienced together, pay tribute to our Jota and provide unwavering support to his family, who are our absolute priority at this time.

Jota's wife Rut, their three adorable children, his parents and extended family are facing unimaginable losses. This tragedy not only took Jota's life, but also took his brother Andre Silva. We are equally saddened by their passing. We must respect the privacy of our family and give them space to mourn the way they need it.

Of course, his Liverpool family is trying to accept it all, and as his teammates, friends and colleagues, we are swallowed up by shock and sadness, and we know that our fans, his national team, former clubs and teammates, and the wider football community are empathetic, a tragedy that surpasses Liverpool Football Club.

In the days to come, as the club, we will strive to honor our dear No. 20 player with the respect and affection he deserves, we will strive to make these tribute events meaningful and involve our supporters because Jota means a lot to them and for now, we express a love full of deep sorrow and we have lost a truly irreplaceable person.

Rest in peace, Ruta, you will never walk alone.
