Wrexham official: Leicester City captain Cody joins, transfer fee of £2 million
Hupu August 1st, the English Championship promotion Ma Wrexham officially announced that he had signed Connor Cody from Leicester City. The transfer fee has not been made public. The specific transfer fee is still subject to international competition approval and registration. 32-year-old Cody signed a two-year contract with the Welsh Red Dragons until the end of the 2026/27 season and has the option to renew the contract for one year. The player who has played for England's national team 10 times joined Werxham from Leicester City. He has previously made 43 appearances in various Leicester City events. The Liverpool-born defender has added valuable experience to the team, with a total of 485 appearances, of which 198 were in the Premier League. When signing with Wrexham Football Club, he said: "I am ecstatic. To be honest, it's a special day. We have all witnessed the achievements of the club in the past few years. Caudy began his career at Liverpool's youth training camp, where he served as captain of the Liverpool U18 and U21 echelons. While playing for this Merseyside team, Cody won the U17 European Cup with England and was selected for the best team of the tournament. Kodi, who was a midfielder at the time, made his first professional league appearance in the 2012 Europa League match against Anzhi Makhachkara. In May 2013, he made his Premier League debut, helping the team defeat Fulham 3-1. The following season, Cody was loaned to Sheffield United and performed well, helping the team reach the FA Cup semi-finals. In 2014, Cody left the team he played for as a child and joined Huddersfield. He made 45 appearances in his only season at Huddersfield. Courty joined the Wolves after a great performance at Huddersfield and played there for eight years. Caudi changed to play as a central defender, leading Wolves to the Premier League in the 2017/18 season, and helped the team qualify for European competition in the 2018/19 season. The centre-back played every minute in the UEFA Cup and was selected for the UEFA All-Season for his outstanding performance.
