Only one year after taking office, Official: Newcastle Sports Director Paul Mitchell will leave office at the end of June
On May 27, Newcastle officially announced that after consensus, the club's sports director Paul Mitchell will leave office at the end of June this year. Paul Mitchell joined Newcastle in July 2024 to reunite with Newcastle CEO Darren Eals. Previously, Darren Eals recruited Paul Mitchell to Tottenham in 2014. In addition, due to health reasons, Darren Eals will step down as CEO of Newcastle in the near future. While Paul Mitchell was the sports director, Newcastle won the first domestic important event championship in March 2025 - the League Cup, and successfully qualified for the 25-26 season.
