Official: Bayern and Rwanda Development Agency switch to youth training cooperation, vigorously develop Kigali youth training college

August 8th, August local time, Bayern officially announced that the sponsorship agreement between the club and the Rwanda Development Agency will be transformed into an exclusive cooperation focusing on youth training. In the future, the two sides will increase their efforts to jointly build the Bayern Youth Training Academy in Kigali, the capital of the country.

Bayern officials said that the club and the Rwanda Development Agency (RDB) will promote the development of the Bayern Kigali Youth Training Academy more actively than before. The new youth training Academy contract will last until the summer of 2028. The original sponsorship agreement with RDB will be transformed into a cooperation specifically aimed at the cultivation of young talents.

Bayern Board Chairman Dresen said: "In the constructive discussion on our future direction, we have collectively recognized that a particular aspect of our relationship with Rwanda Development is Bayern's development work at Kigali Youth Training Academy."

"So, we have transformed our business partnership into a talent development program, and we will jointly develop the academy further as a football and social initiative project. This also strengthens our strategic direction for developing talents in Africa." Jean-Guy Afrika, CEO of Rwanda Development Agency, said: "Bayern is in Kigali The success of the Youth Training Academy is an excellent example of what impact strategic sports cooperation can have. After entering a new stage, we will focus more on the further development of sports - focusing on talent training, excellent coaching training and the construction of sports infrastructure. "

Just recently, two promising Rwandan players, Batasar and Okosai, were selected for the 2025 Bayern U19 World Team. This is an important milestone in the development of Rwanda's sports and also highlights the success of Bayern Youth Training Academy in the country.
