Manwan: Anthony is still uncertain about the future, Betis hopes to renew his lease for one year
According to the Manchester Evening News on May 8, Manchester United star Anthony expressed uncertainty about the future, while Betis hoped to extend the loan contract.
Manchester United winger Anthony performed well while Real Betis was on loan. In an interview, he said that he did not know how the future would develop.
The Brazil international was loaned to Betis by Manchester United in the January transfer window until the end of the season. In his 20 games for Betis, he scored 7 goals and contributed 4 assists. Before joining Betis, Anthony's performance at Manchester United was stagnant and made only 14 appearances throughout the season.
As the season approaches, Anthony said he has no clear plans for the future. His main energy is currently focused on helping Betis enter the UEFA League final. They will face Fiorentina in the semifinals tonight.
"When I came to Betis, I hope to make history," Anthony said in an interview with The Ass. "I am very happy to be able to wear Betis' jersey to the Europa League semifinals, and I am physically and mentally prepared."
"Although I have had great time in Ajax, I feel that now is one of the best moments in my life, both physically and mentally. It would be a dream to be recorded in history by Betis. I don't know what will happen after the season, but I'm very happy here." Earlier, Betis CEO Ramon Alakon said the club hopes to renew Anthony's loan for another year. "Obviously, if there is a high offer, the decision lies with Manchester United," Alakon told El Desmarque, "but we have always treated it with respect. Every week we send Anthony's training and game reports to Manchester United, letting them know how we take care of the players."
"At the same time, we also value Anthony's own efforts and potential, who has been fully integrated into the team. In the summer we will see if there is a chance to keep him for another year. If not, we will look for other candidates because the most important thing is to keep the team competitive."
