Manchester United teenager Whitley: The club attaches great importance to cultivating me, I hope to gain a foothold in the Red Devils

June 19: Manchester United striker Ethan Whitley is playing in the European Youth Championship with England's U19 team. In the game where England drew 5-5 with Germany, Whitley scored a goal.

In an interview, Whitley said: "I am more focused on England's game now. Since Amorin took office, I have been training for England and was loaned out in January, so I have not participated much in Amorin's team. I hope to gain a foothold in Manchester United in the future. If this is not achieved, it may be destined. Let's wait and see."

In the second half of the 24-25 season, Whitley played for Walsall on loan, but he only played 4 times. In response, 19-year-old Whitley said: "This really makes me very frustrated. I have not been able to show my strength. I think this European Youth Championship is an excellent opportunity to show myself. There will be a lot of people paying attention to this competition. It can't be better to represent the country in European competitions.

"I hope that through this competition, I can leave a deep impression on the team, contribute to myself and the team, and perform well. The club was nice to me and they let me come back and play some U21 teams to keep me in shape. I got improvement and game time after returning to Manchester United, which felt great.

"Even if my first loan was not going well, I can't say that completely. I know it in my heart. I also told the club staff that this experience cannot define what kind of player I am, nor will it determine where I will go in the future. I think this is just a small setback in my early career, and I hope I can recover next season."
