More than five years have passed since Harry Maguire was arrested in Mykonos, Greece. Is his retrial finally going to be held?

The long-awaited trial is scheduled to be launched on Wednesday morning in Syros Island, but it has been postponed three times before. Whether it can be held as scheduled will still be tested.

Maguire does not need to appear in court in person, but the Post learned that the 32-year-old's defense team is ready to do its best to clear his grievances.

In August 2020, Maguire was arrested for a fight while on a family vacation and was later found guilty of assault on police and attempted bribery - but the verdict has been later revoked.

In August 2020, the player was arrested for fighting while on a family vacation and was convicted of assaulting police officers and attempting to bribe.

He was sentenced to 21 months of probation, but the judgment was automatically revoked upon appeal under Greek law. In May 2023, the first retrial was postponed because Maguire's defense lawyer was unable to appear in court; in February 2024, the retrial was postponed again due to the strike of Greek lawyers; in March this year, the third retrial was postponed.

It is currently on international match day. England coach Thomas Tuchel once again excludes the Manchester United star in the match against Wales and Latvia. Maguire is currently spending a holiday with his family.

Maguire has not played for England for 13 months since he was called into the team by interim coach Lee Casley in September last year.
