How does a small football country develop? Klopp: We need more footballers to take leadership positions

June 19: Liverpool's former player Kravan is currently running for the chairman of the Estonian Football Association. One of his goals is to lead the Estonian football team into the top 50 in the world (currently 121). For this reason, he asked former Red Army meritorious coach Klopp for advice.

Klopp replied: "It all starts with your idea. Entering the top 50 is an idea. Do Estonian football development be a idea. Are Estonian children less talented than Spanish children? I don't think so, so why are there such differences in football development? Are all children in Spain excellent football players? Of course not. The question is, if someone wants to play football and has excellent physical conditions, can we provide him with the right guidance? Can we make the right decision at any time? Can we respect their physiological development? It all depends on the concept of developing football, because it will determine that we all move in one direction."

When talking about the advice that will be given to Estonian football, Klopp pondered and said: "We need it." More footballers in leadership positions, we don’t have to play at the top level to contribute. If you study hard, have ideals and share your experience, you have played at high level, you say you can go to Spain to enjoy the sunny beach, but you choose to do something meaningful, which is exactly what I appreciate. There are many old faces in FIFA and UEFA, and that’s because young people don’t want to do these jobs, and now we have people who are willing to change the status quo and make it better, and we should support them."

When asked by Cravan if he would help Estonian football, Klopp said: "I’m willing to help you, you already have my phone number, but don’t tell others! Family, family for a day, family for life, I’ll come and help."
