Xinhua News Agency, Chengdu, August 19 (Reporters Dong Xiaohong and Chen Di) On the 19th, the first International Drone Football League (FIDA) World Cup China Selection Championship was launched in Shuangliu District, Chengdu. As the only official institution representing China to participate in FIDA, the China Aviation Society will select 100 teams to South Korea to participate in the Drone Football World Cup held in September.

According to reports, in 2022, the China Aviation Society and relevant social organizations from 18 other countries and regions jointly initiated the establishment of the International Drone Football League, committed to promoting and developing drone football events around the world. The event fully combines drone technology and football competition, with a sense of technology and viewing, and is an emerging technology event that promotes popularization of drone science.

This China selection competition attracted 306 teams and about 1,200 players from more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country to participate, and 100 teams will be selected to go to South Korea to participate in the Drone Football World Cup. At the game site, the reporter saw that the players controlled the ball drone, cooperated with each other, collided and intercepted, allowing the drone to accurately cross the opponent's goal.

Ke Liang, deputy director of the Culture, Radio, Film, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Shuangliu District, Chengdu, introduced that as a typical representative of the multi-person drone confrontation movement, drone football is known as the "future sports". This selection competition can not only quickly promote the sport, but also help cultivate more young talents in drone football.

The event will last for three days and will be open to the public for free. From September 25 to 28, the first Drone Football World Cup will be held in Qiongju, South Korea.
