Brighton loses to Ajax, Europa League begins
On Thursday night, October 26, fierce competition began in the third round of the Europa League group stage. Premier League team Brighton and Eredivisie Ajax staged a wonderful showdown at Adidas Stadium. Despite Brighton's full effort, he eventually lost 0-2 to Ajax, regrettably losing. After the start of the game, Ajax showed strong attack power. They frequently threaten Brighton's goal with efficient passes and flexible running. However, Brighton performed well in defense, with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez resolving danger many times, maintaining a clean sheet for the team. Brighton tried to find opportunities through counterattacks, but Ajax's defense was solid, making it difficult for Brighton to form an effective offense. The first half ended in the 35th minute, and Ajax finally broke the deadlock. Argentina striker Loreent received a cross from his teammates in the penalty area and volleyed to score, gaining the lead for Ajax. The goal has greatly boosted Ajax's morale, while Brighton strengthened his offense and tried to quickly equalize the score. However, neither the famous striker Neil Map nor the midfield core Aaron Connery failed to break Ajax's solid defense. After the second half began, Brighton continued to work hard to catch up with the score. They stepped up their pressing against Ajax in an attempt to make an opponent's mistake. However, Ajax always maintains control of the game with excellent ball-handling and passing skills. In the 62nd minute, Ajax launched another attack, and Dutch international Hibert Martings calmly pushed the ball after receiving a pass from his teammate, expanding the score to 2-0. Although Brighton made several threatening attacks before the end of the game, Ajax's defense was as stable as a mountain and held on to the advantage of victory. In the end, Brighton lost to Ajax 0-2 and suffered his first group stage defeat.
