Americans who wanted to acquire Tottenham once bought the FE team with Snoopy Dog, but failed

Hupu October 2nd News Daily Telegraph famous reporter Matt Law wrote a column on Tottenham acquisition case.

Brooklyn-Eric is a former DJ who made his public debut last week as the head of the mysterious consortium that claims to be preparing to acquire Tottenham Hotspur for a record £4.5 billion.

Tottenham Hotspur "clearly rejected" Eric's informal acquisition intention, saying it was "unsolicited and unnecessary" because after Eric failed to acquire Maserati MSG Formula E team, the outside world expressed doubts about the seriousness of Eric's acquisition intention.

This prompted Eric to disclose his acquisition intentions on social media—which violated the rules of the acquisition committee—and it is now reported that Eric’s advisor was Peter Tremlin, best known for coaching with Notts County, when the team appointed Sven Golan Erikson.

People close to him admit that Eric, 41, is not a traditional figure, but insists that he is not the newest Michael Knighton in the football world. Knight had claimed in public that he was Manchester United's prospective boss, but ultimately failed to invest.

It is reported that the identities of Eric's 12 investors have not been disclosed. But Dan Gilbert, the American billionaire owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, confirmed that contrary to what a source revealed to the Daily Telegraph, he is not a member of the consortium.

Eric himself declined to comment on the rumors surrounding him, including:

-Eric was introduced by Tremlin to Tottenham Hotspur and was arranged by former chairman Daniel Levi to visit the club facilities, while the Lewis family, CEO Vincart Sam and non-executive chairman Peter Charlington knew nothing about it.

-Eric leaked details and photos of the visit on social media, violating the acquisition committee's rules.

-Eric claimed to have initial interest in the acquisition of Crystal Palace and watched a game in the boardroom in March. He has also visited Chelsea.

-Eric signed a contract to become the owner of Maserati MSG, but the contract was cancelled due to no transfer of funds.

-He told the racetrack that SnoopDogg was involved in his bid to buy Maserati without a successful bid, but the American rapper is not a member of the consortium he claimed to be heading and interested in Tottenham.

-Some sources interviewed by the Daily Telegraph, including Tremlin, commented positively on Eric and believed he sincerely wanted to acquire Tottenham Hotspur for a record price, and that the support behind him was also legal. Other sources from the racing and football world are skeptical.

A racing source told the Daily Telegraph:

"My heart sank when I saw Eric bidding for Tottenham Hotspur. I felt a sense of déjà vu when I saw what happened between him and Maserati, and all the promises that never came true."

In an email to the Daily Telegraph, former chairman of Notts County, Tremlin said:

"I know Brooke very well." Lin, I introduced him to several key figures at Tottenham, and I think that's the key to the beginning. That's how it is.

I do know that the proposed co-investors are all excellent and very sincere, but I personally don't know any of them, nor have they ever had any contact with them."

Sources confirmed that, as far as they know, SnoopDogg is not included in the investors who want to acquire Tottenham. Eric has reportedly told racing insiders that SnoopDogg was one of the drivers behind his bid for Maserati earlier this year.

The Daily Telegraph contacted SnoopDogg's agent about the acquisition of Maserati and Eric, but has not received a reply.

It is understood that FormulaE has not received any contact from SnoopDogg, but some people close to Eric are sure they know each other.

Formula E-E fleets usually have market capitalizations of around £15 million to £20 million, but it is speculated that Eric may be able to acquire Maserati for as low as £5 million as the team is in debt.

Although Eric talked enthusiastically about his plans for Maserati, including the introduction of celebrity investors and sponsors, and said that he and his legal team had completed due diligence, he did not fulfill the financial commitments in the contract, resulting in the contract being void.

This process is said to be very painful for Maserati MSG, who were responsible for back-tuning Eric. It is unclear what proof of funding they provided, but no transfers and contracts occurred in the end.
