Why do people always underestimate Tatum?

Welcome back to the Shisan Arena.

G2 in the second round of the Eastern Conference, the Celtics once again reversed by the Knicks while leading by 20 points.

As the defending champion, the big score behind 0:2 is somewhat embarrassing.

Theoretical master Tatum has a cold continuous touch. His total shooting percentage is only 28.6% in two games, and his three-pointers are 5 of 20 shots, with a shooting percentage of only 25%.

and, in both games, Tatum was the one who carried out the last attack, and he obviously failed to deliver a satisfactory answer. After winning the championship last season, although FMVP gave Jaylen Brown, in most people's minds, Tatum is always the real top player of this team.

In his eight years of career, he has played in 5 rounds of the Eastern Conference Finals and 2 rounds of the finals, and has been selected for one team three times; and if he is selected for another team this season, it will be the fourth time - even Curry has been selected for one team four times so far in his career.

His personal resume is excellent and his team's performance is quite good, but the public's doubts and criticisms of him have never stopped over the years.

, what is the problem?

In terms of talent, Tatum is of course extremely outstanding: 2 meters tall, 2 meters wide, and a perfect forward size.

Although his athletic ability is not an outdated, he has been polished over the years and has been comprehensive in his skills. He averaged 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6 assists per game this season - he is the only player except Jokic and the letters, who averaged 20+8+5 per game.

More importantly, my body is quite resistant to production. I have played 585 regular season games in my career so far, with the most rookies in the same class.

No matter how outstanding he is, no matter how good he is, it is empty talk if he can't play; at least in terms of physical fitness and health, Tatum is impeccable.

Average 23.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks in his career, which is quite good.

But obviously, it has not reached the level of Zhan, Du and Ku.

In comparison, in the first eight years of his career, James averaged 27.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 7 assists, 1.7 steals, 0.8 blocks; in the first eight years of his career, Durant averaged 27.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1 block;

Curry is relatively late, and averaged 22.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.2 blocks.

, if he doesn't compare players of Tatum and Zhan and Du, he will of course be very outstanding.

But it is inevitable that it is a bit reluctant to say it is a "facade" - most of the controversy and doubts surrounding him are also in this.

At the very least, he is not outstanding enough to be included in the MVP discussion.

The instability of critical moments is Tatum's biggest problem at present - it is also the most insurmountable gap between the super giant and ordinary stars.

In the finals last year, Tatum was the team's scoring, rebounding, and assisting, but why is Jaylen Brown the FMVP?

A very important reason is probably that the Tatum series hits only 38.8%, while Jaylen Brown is 44%.

Last season, Tatum averaged 26.9 points per game, shooting percentage of 47.1% + 37.6% + 83.3%;

Average 25 points per game, shooting percentage of 42.7% + 28.3% + 86.1%.

Jaylen Brown had 23 points, shooting percentage of 49.9% + 35.4% + 70.3%; and 23.9 points, shooting percentage of 51.6% + 32.7% + 66%

If you want to fight a tough battle, Jaylen Brown seems to be the more reliable one?

Therefore, Tatum really can't blame anyone for being despised and questioned.

The ironwork must be strong himself - next, it is time for him to prove himself.

If the second round is really stopped, the previous rumors of the Celtics demolition team may come true.
