The 76ers second team has the ownership of the former Grizzlies backcourt star. Can he return to the NBA in the new season?
According to Canadian media Sportsnet reporter Blake Murphy, the Toronto Raptors' NBA Development League team Raptors 905 will take the NBA Development League ownership of Kennedy Chandler to the Philadelphia 76ers' NBA Development League team Delaware Blueshirts got Patrick McCaw and a future first-round pick. Candler was born in September 2002 and is 23 years old, 183cm tall and weighs 78kg. He is the backcourt star selected by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 38th pick in the second round in the 2022 NBA Draft. Chandler has made 36 appearances for the Grizzlies in his rookie season, averaging 7.8 minutes per game, averaging 2.2 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.1 blocks, and 0.5 turnovers and 0.4 fouls. However, because the Grizzlies need to strengthen their inside players, Chandler was cut by the team at the end of the season. More or less surprisingly, Chandler has never returned to the NBA field since then, and he has been working hard in the NBA Development League field in recent seasons. Candler played for the Toronto Raptors' NBA Development League team 905 last season. In the NBA Development League last season, Chandler played 50 games in total, averaging 24.1 minutes per game, averaging 13.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.3 blocks, and 1.9 turnovers and 1.9 fouls. He shot 48% from the field, 36% from three-point shooting percentage and 65.1% from free throws. In the previous NBA Summer League, Chandler played for the Houston Rockets. He played 5 games in the summer league, averaging 31.1 minutes per game, averaging 18.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.6 blocks, and 2.6 turnovers and 2.4 fouls. He shot 38.8%, three-point shooting percentage 28%, and free throw shooting percentage 61.1%. Candler's performance in the summer league was not particularly bad, but he had obvious problems with his offensive choices, and his stability on the offensive end was also not ideal. Although Chandler's defensive ability is not bad, his disadvantages in terms of figure are also very obvious. Overall, Chandler's performance in the summer league was not ideal, and he did not show particularly outstanding personal abilities. However, Chandler was also a highly-watched five-star high school student, and he was considered to have super high talent and potential. However, his progress in these seasons is indeed limited, and he has not played out all his talents, which has also led to him being unable to get a stable contract. Although Delaware Blue Shirts has obtained his NBA Development League ownership, it is estimated that he will continue to compete in the NBA Development League in a short period of time. I don’t know what kind of performance he can perform in the NBA Development League in the new season.
