Perkins: Curry is only one championship and one FMVP away from being among the "best in history"
NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins revealed he thinks how Golden State Warriors defender Stephen Curry is among the "Best in All Time" (GOAT). Despite the strong reversal of the Houston Rockets in the series, the Golden State Warriors advanced to the second round with a 103-89 victory in Game 7. The Golden State Warriors are in the same shape as they always have, and many are beginning to believe that the team can once again reach the championship. With that in mind, NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins reveals how Stephen Curry replaced Curry as one of the "Best in All Time" (GOAT). On ESPN's "Get Up" show, the former NBA center claimed that Curry was just one championship ring and a Finals MVP trophy away from the "Best in All Time" (GOAT). Although the Warriors point guard is hailed as a game-changing rule, Perkins believes Stephen Curry still has to be proven. "Stephen Curry is only one distance from the championship, and only one finals MVP is missing from the discussion of entering GOAT (Best Player of All Time)." The 37-year-old defender performed well in the series against the Rockets. Despite facing several strong defensive players, Stephen Curry still led the Warriors to the next round of the NBA playoffs. In seven games, the two-time MVP scored 24.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game, with a three-point shooting percentage of up to 39.2%. Speaking of GOAT, the two most eye-catching names are Michael Jordan and LeBron James. However, there are still many NBA legends who can also make it among them. If Stephen Curry can lead the Warriors to the Finals MVP this season, this will be his fifth championship in his career and his second time to win the Finals MVP. Compared to Jordan and James, Curry is indeed comparable to their career honors. James and Curry have the same number of championship rings, while the Los Angeles Lakers star has surpassed Curry's finals MVP, reaching four times. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls legend star won six championships in the 1990s.
