Nuggets News: Despite losing Game 4, Jamal Murray remains optimistic about the future

While losing Game 4 is undoubtedly a heavy blow to the Thunder, Jamal Murray believes the Nuggets still have a great chance to win the series.

Denver Nuggets lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 87-92 in Game 4 and are now in a two-inning series. As the series draws 2-2, as the series returns to Oklahoma City, the Nuggets need to find a way to get back to form.

Despite losing the game, the team's point guard Jamal Murray remained optimistic when reporters suggested that the Nuggets would face an uphill battle.

"It's not a funeral, guys," Murray said. "Two wins in three games. We lost this game. The next game continues."

Nuggets and the Thunder both suffered fatigue in the fourth game

The fourth game has only 38 hours since the Nuggets won overtime in the third game. Both teams obviously lacked rest, and the Nuggets scored only 8 points in the first quarter. The shooting percentage of the two teams also hit the worst in a single game in the playoffs in 21 years. For most of the first half, the Nuggets maintained exhausted physical fitness, with the two teams making only 2 of 24 shots.

The Nuggets found the rhythm after the break, and made 6 of 9 shots in the third quarter and 3 of 4 shots from 4 three-pointers, establishing a 7-point lead. But they eventually squandered the lead because they exhausted their energy at the last moment. They suddenly gave the Thunder more open shots, especially three-pointers.

"We threw some goals, so it felt good to see the ball in. It gave us some breathing opportunities, but we didn't keep it up," Murray said. "It wasn't a good day in the office today. We had opportunities and some opportunities; our defense did well for most of the game. It was a tough game."

Nikola Jokic scored 27 points and 13 rebounds and sent 4 steals, but only 7 of 22 shots were made in the game. Aaron Gordon contributed a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds, with Christian Braun and Jamal Murray each scoring 17 points. Ultimately, the Nuggets' lack of bench depth did a lot of damage to them, and their starters tried almost to try to regain their lead in vain.

As the series returns to Oklahoma City for Tuesday's crucial fifth game, the Nuggets will strive to take the lead in the series again. Additionally, they can enjoy a small amount of extra rest time as the race starts later (7:30 pm mountain time).
