James: My three-pointers have indeed improved, but it is still an area I have never really mastered.

July 5th News Recently, James and Nash's podcast program "The Brain of the Field" updated the latest episode, in which James talked about a skill he had never really mastered.

James said: "To be honest, three-pointers are an area I have never really mastered in my career. I have been training and have indeed improved, yes. But if you talk about the movements that are equally efficient, such as when you shoot a mid-range shot from the left, I feel very comfortable and efficient: I have a balanced center of gravity, can control the rhythm of taking off after the dribble, and know very well where I take the shot. I can jump straight, or lean back slightly or move sideways, and the feeling of force on this side is completely controlled."

Then James said: "But from the right, I'll do it. It's always more complicated: sometimes I have a bad balance, and I'm not sure whether I should lean back or jump or stay completely vertical. Even though I have repeated these moves countless times in training, these will still cause me to fluctuate psychologically during the game. Of course, you don't want to be led by the defense, but you also have to find that familiar shooting point, and this is the most difficult part for me."

It is worth mentioning that as of now, James's three-point shooting percentage averaged 34.9% in his career, and James' three-point shooting percentage averaged 41% in the 2023-2024 season, the highest in his career.
